Yoga + Wellness Retreat

8-Day Reset in Madeira, Portugal
June 6-13, 2027

Welcome to Madeira!

Sol Seek invites you to a beautiful, lush North Atlantic island to step away from the noise, settle into a slower rhythm and give yourself something we rarely get enough of: time to fill yourself back up. The island of Madeira is a place to pause, a place to breathe, a place to be refilled.

Our goal is to host a retreat in the truest sense—days grounded in yoga, movement, breath + stillness, with space to rest, reconnect and simply be. There are incredible adventures waiting when you want them, but there is nowhere you have to be.

Our Home in Portugal

Perched along Madeira’s southern coast, Sentido Galosol is a place designed for wellness—not simply a hotel where we happen to practice yoga. With ocean views, pools, spa + sauna facilities, direct access to the sea, and dedicated yoga + meditation spaces, everything we need is right here.

Built into the island’s dramatic coastline, there are plenty of places to slow down—linger over breakfast, read by the pool, head to the spa or find a quiet spot overlooking the Atlantic.  And because wellness is already part of the hotel’s DNA, there’s space to practice, gather, wander, rest—or simply be.

For eight days, this will be our home. Unpack once. Exhale. Find your rhythm. Let it feel like home.

Fun Facts about Madeira

SIP SOMETHING MADEIRAN

The island is famous for Madeira wine + Poncha, its beloved local drink made with sugarcane spirit, honey and citrus.

BOM DIA, MADEIRA!

Portuguese is the language of Madeira and learning a little obrigado or obrigada goes a long way.

CLOSER TO AFRICA

Madeira is Portuguese, but sits just 310 miles off the African coast.

THE ISLAND OF ETERNAL SPRING

A subtropical climate keeps Madeira lush, colorful + comfortable nearly year-round.

TASTE THE TROPICS

Bananas, passion fruit, papaya + other tropical fruits thrive across Madeira’s volcanic landscape.  The island was born from volcanoes.

Our Leaders:

Justin, Greg + Katie

Justin, Greg + Katie have been doing life, yoga + a whole lot of dreaming together for nearly a decade.

They met through yoga on the east coast, but quickly discovered how much more they shared—from backgrounds in musical theater and performance to ministry, teaching, music, travel and a deep love of bringing people together.  All three wound up bringing that love all the way across the country together to Manhattan Beach and Santa Barbara.

As the Owners and Creative Director of Sol Seek, the three have poured their hearts into creating a community rooted in movement, connection + belonging. They work hard, laugh a lot, love a good adventure and believe some of the most meaningful moments happen when we give ourselves enough space to actually be present for them.

In Madeira, they’ll do what they love most: practice alongside you, lead our yoga and wellness practices, explore with you, gather around the table with you—and hold space for you to experience the week in whatever way you need.

Three friends. One shared heart for Sol Seek. And one incredible week together in Madeira.

Day 3: Funchal

Begin the day with yoga + breakfast, then we’re off to experience the heart of Madeira—Funchal. Day 4: Catamaran Experience

After breakfast, we’ll head to Funchal and take to the sea for a private catamaran sail along Madeira’s spectacular coastline. Toast with a glass of sparkling wine, enjoy local bites + drinks, soak in the views and, when we reach the towering cliffs of Cabo Girão, jump into the crystal-clear Atlantic for a swim. Keep your eyes on the water—we may even spot dolphins, whales or sea turtles along the way. Back in Funchal, the afternoon is yours to grab lunch, wander + explore before we return home to gather for dinner.

Day 5: E-Bike Experience

Begin the morning with yoga + breakfast, then it’s time to experience Madeira on two wheels. We’ll set out on a guided e-bike ride through the island’s incredible landscapes, with the route + pace tailored to our group. Take in the views, breathe in the fresh air and experience Madeira a little differently. Then it’s back home for a completely open afternoon. We’ll come back together for dinner at the hotel that evening.

Day 6: Jeep Tour + Farm-to-Table Lunch

Start your day with an early morning yoga class followed by a nourishing breakfast at the hotel. A Jeep will then take us to the starting point of a scenic hike in São Vicente. This gentle walk (approximately one hour) begins at Sítio dos Cardais de Baixo and finishes at the Capela de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, offering beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and coastline along the way. For lunch, we’ll dine at a charming local farm where the owner prepares grilled chicken the traditional Madeiran way, accompanied by bolo do caco with herb butter and a selection of wines produced onsite. Enjoy the simple yet spectacular setting surrounded by vineyards and mountains. After lunch, we’ll journey back to the hotel, passing by Porto Moniz to admire the natural pools carved into the lava. The evening is free for dinner and relaxation at your leisure.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 7: Leisure Day

After your morning wellness activity and breakfast, you have the entire day at your leisure to explore the island. You might participate in the hotel's amenities, treating yourself to a rejuvenating spa session, lounging by the pool, or embarking on exciting outdoor excursions such as scuba diving, kayaking, swimming on the private beach, and more. Alternatively, venture out to explore the enchanting island of Madeira. Wander through local shops, bask in a day at the beach, or discover its scenic wonders by hiking along the levadas, taking scenic drives, or visiting botanical gardens and cultural attractions. Later this evening, we’ll head to a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
